Junior Drama Company Presents: King Arthur: The Pantomime

In association with Playmarket, the Junior Drama Company is proud to present King Arthur: The Pantomime, written by James Dunning and Claire Hiria Dunning.

This year's production has been directed by senior drama students Sophie Rowe and Ava Donell. They have been supported by our senior drama leaders Jamie Smail and Olivia Rose.

King Arthur: The Pantomime follows Arthur, a young squire whose promising career takes an unexpected turn when he draws the enchanted sword Excalibur from the stone and is proclaimed High King of All England. As Arthur struggles to adjust to his new role, his sister plots to seize the throne, his knights can't stop squabbling, and his promised bride, Princess Guinevere, is nowhere to be found. When Excalibur mysteriously disappears, the Knights of the Square Table must learn to work together to save their king. Along the way, Arthur embarks on an adventure filled with friendship, courage, humour, and discovery as he seeks to recover the legendary sword, mend a fractured relationship with his adopted brother, and find the love of his life.

Our students have worked incredibly hard to bring this story to the stage. This year's production places a strong emphasis on performance and storytelling, with a minimal set design that allows the actors' energy, imagination, and talent to take centre stage. Through lively characters, physical comedy, audience interaction, and the joyful traditions of pantomime, our performers have created a production that is sure to entertain audiences of all ages.

We are immensely proud of the dedication and growth shown by every student involved and invite you to join us for an evening of laughter, adventure, and outstanding young talent as the Junior Drama Company presents King Arthur: The Pantomime.

Tickets are free. Donations are warmly welcomed and will directly support our Drama Department in providing students with a rich and well-resourced learning experience.
